Cloaking means disguise in general and in SEO also it means a kind of disguise. When a webpage has different contents, one for the search engines and the other for the users, is known as cloaking.
This is a part of ‘Black hat SEO’.
It is used to increase the page rank of a certain website tremendously and also as a trick to draw visitors to a particular site.
However, since cloaking is an artificial method of boosting rankings, most search engines frown on the practice of cloaking, and will penalize web sites that they find to be using cloaking as a method of search engine marketing.
